Burman Bush Saturday 4th May Feedback

16 members braved the really lousy weather – cold, heavy cloud and very windy.  Our bird count was about 42 but a lot of that was on sound.  Good views of an adult African Harrier Hawk + juvenile were seen at the top of Burman Bush and most of us took the path back down through the woods which takes one past the Black Sparrowhawk’s nest – which is in use.  A number of leafy twigs are on the nest and the Spar was seen taking off from the nest.  Later the birds were also seen from the picnic site.  No pics of birds mainly due to the windy conditions!   The Mother of Pearl butterfly was seen deep in the bush.

Pics thanks to Penny de Vries.

Cheers
