BirdLife’s Save our Seabird festival is held in October each year, this year it is the week of the 7th to 13th October. In support of SOS, we will be putting out an additional pelagic trip from Durban, on the good boat isiHuhwa. Attractions at this time of year are the Pterodroma Petrels, Great-winged and Soft-plumaged being more likely, and if we are lucky, the rare Barau’s Petrel might put in an appearance. The pelagic is planned for the 5th October with the 6th as a banker in case of bad weather. Cost per person is R1300, all profits go towards the Save our Seabirds fund.
