This is a raft-hydroid called a Porpita porpita or “Blue Button” 30 mm in diameter . It is related to bluebottles. It floats on the surface feeding on planktonic animals using its stinging tentacles which hang from the circular, gas-filled float. It sting is harmless to humans.
