Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve trail.
Guided nature walk with Lesley Frescura. Enjoy the beauty of the forest, the thrill of crossing the lagoon on a wooden bridge and then a leisurely stroll along the beach back to the Breakers Resort. At the same time learn a little about the culture of our people and the value of our indigenous vegetation and take note of the birds in residence as some of them prepare for summer breeding.
The Umhlanga Lagoon NR is controlled and maintained by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Meet at Breakers Resort reception desk. Cost R30 per person and R15 for children under 13. Optional refreshments or a light lunch are on sale at the resort after the walk or bring your own tea. The walk lasts approximately 1.5 hours and begins at 09.00.
The resort provides security support by linking the guides with their two security guards posted at the lagoon.
Directions: After entering Umhlanga travel down towards the sea. At the fourth set of traffic lights turn left into Lagoon Drive. Breakers Resort, no 88, is situated on the right at the very end of Lagoon Drive. Park in the roadway, there are car guards.
See you then.
