Report back:- Outing to Pigeon Valley on Wed. 7 Aug

Report back:-  Outing to Pigeon Valley on Wed. 7 Aug
3 ladies joined me for the outing. We had glorious, windless weather which was very conducive to good birding. Although we did not see the spotted ground thrush, we had some nice bird parties which included yellow-rumped tinkerbirds, bar-throated apalis, Cape white-eyes, collared, grey and olive sunbirds, Cape batis and dark-backed weavers. Real show-offs were a square-tailed drongo and a male paradise flycatcher. The white-browed scrub-robin called very loudly above our heads, but we were unable to see it – very frustrating!. The total count was 37 birds.
