Kenneth Stainbank Sunday 18 Aug Report back.
There was a small turn out, possibly because it was forecast for morning rains. However the weather was perfect until about 09h30 when it got windy. There were three adults and four children, one of which was very keen and knowledgeable on birds. I told the parent that they must join the bird club.
Because of the young children we only walked for two and half hours but still saw some nice birds including:
Purple-crested Turaco, White-eared Barbets, Olive Sunbirds, Dark-capped Bulbul, African Paradise Flycatcher, Southern Black Tit, Black-backed Puffback, Dusky Flycatcher, Fork-tailed Drongo, Hadeda Ibis, Black Sparrowhawk, Spotted Ground Thrush, Black Flycatcher, Yellow-billed Kite, Green-backed Cameroptera, Streaky-headed Seedeater, Klaas’s Cuckoo, African Darter, Little Bee-eater, Rattling Cisticola, Black-headed Oriole, Amethyst Sunbird, Golden-tailed Woodpecker as well as Zebra and Impala.

I thought Green but my fingers were in another planet – sorry – now corrected. Paul
Nice list of birds seen. I’m sure you meant Green-backed Cameroptera as grey would be well out of its normal range.??
