Take heed all birders! 7-11 October is Marine Week and to celebrate this, there will be a Save Our Seabirds Festival at Ushaka Marine World, along the lines of the successful events in Cape Town. The main events will take place on Monday 7th October, as follows:
17h00: Signing of Shorebirds of South Africa by Roy Cowgill and Steve Davis, followed by a brief PowerPoint presentation during refreshments
17h30: Light refreshments at uShaka Marine Lecture Theatre
18h00: Welcome and Introduction: Roy Cowgill
18h10: Presentation by Judy Mann, “Status of the African Penguin: heading towards extinction”
18h45: David Allan/Martin Taylor on “Seabirds of the South African East Coast”
19h30: Snacks to be served after presentations.
20h00: Visit the photographic exhibition “Oceans of Life“ and the aquarium.
