Lisl van Deventer and I recently returned from a 24-day trip to Colombia and managed to get 701 (33 heard-only) species including 50 (4 heard-only) endemics and a further 87 (4 heard-only) near-endemics. Mostly very pleasant conditions and some absolutely superb cloud- and subtropical forest birding. It’s a fascinating country with friendly people and pretty good food too.
