Bluff Nature Reserve with Elena Russell.
A number of people took wrong roads, wrong turnoffs but eventually 23 members made it to the Bluff NR – we welcomed Piet & Maritjie Beukes from the Pretoria bird club who have moved down to Umhlanga Rocks and joined BLPN (good move!). We had a lovely winter’s day birding and our total bird count was 64. There were lots of highlights but lets mention the stunning views of the Narina Trogon, Purple Heron, a skirmish over the pond between an African Fish Eagle and a Black Sparrowhawk and the very active communal nests of the Bronze Mannikins.
